S is for Spain

PreK is studying the letter S this week, so we looked at and discussed the artwork of two Spanish artists, Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. They were amazed by the peculiar subjects and styles of these great Surrealist and Cubist masters. After the slide show, they drew a portrait in the style of Picasso. What's wonderful to see, is that other than guiding them in the structure of the face, they were given no other instruction -- their color choices are all their own. This just shows how engaged they were in our discussion and analysis, because these are so fantastically colorful, just like Picasso's!
