Self-Portraits in PreK

PreK has completed their last big art project of the year, beautiful self-portraits! After picking out their skin tone paper, they drew and colored their main features and mounted their masterpieces to colored paper. They focused on drawing realistic facial features. This is lovely work PreK and I'm so proud of everything you have accomplished this year!

Butterflies are Flying

PreK's colorful painted paper butterflies are ready to fly! They worked very hard on these - painting paper with pattern rollers, drawing their wings, cutting them out, making a body, gluing it all together, and adding antennae. Lovely work Prek!

Spanish Artists

This week in art class, PreK looked at and discussed the artwork of two Spanish artists, Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. They were amazed by the peculiar subjects and styles of these great Surrealist and Cubist masters. After the slide show, they drew a self-portrait in the Cubist style of Picasso. Their colorful expression indicates they were paying very close attention to Picasso's color palette - so proud of you PreK!

Names and Patterns

In art class, PreK has been talking about patterns. Students created and colored  patterned name signs. Wonderful creativity and color choices, PreK!
