Emphasis and Variety in the Koi Pond

After identifying and discussing emphasis and variety in famous works of art, fifth graders created scenes of koi ponds with these two artistic principles in mind. They used an oil pastel watercolor resist technique along with a little salt to create these lovely scenes.
