Positive and Negative

Exploring positive and negative space with Japanese Notan designs has kept the eighth graders busy these past few weeks. They were asked to design their piece with a theme in mind or, if abstract, with a unified feel. Great creativity and skill was displayed...

Color Theory

Eighth graders finished their color theory compositions this week. Their goal was to create a design that incorporated all the colors from a 12-section color wheel, mixed from the three primary colors, into a monochromatic black and white picture.

Perspective


This week most eighth graders finished their latest project in which they were challenged to draw in 2-point perspective, above, below and on the horizon line. Some students combined 1 and 2 point perspective that really turned their pieces into brain twisters.
