Faux Repousse

Fifth graders completed their repoussé projects this week with some pretty convincing pieces. Repoussé is a metalworking technique where the metal is hammered from the back towards the front. Chasing is then used to engrave details from the front towards the back. Fifth grade used cardboard, glue, tin foil and smudge sticks to achieve a similar look.
