Butterflies & Beetles

While studying interesting and famous watercolor paintings, sixth graders discussed the art principals of unity and balance. They then began their latest project: Creating a watercolor of a butterfly or beetle. They were encouraged to use some of the techniques they had learned in their last lesson. I'm thrilled with their results - this is a very challenging medium!
