Having just completed a multi-day art period project, I thought it would be fun for first graders to have a one day lesson combining an art technique with something Halloweenish. They drew spiders and then used a crayon/watercolor resist to create their webs. There was lots of discussion on insect vs. arachnid...I was so impressed by their knowledge!
