3D Sculpture Artists
Before they got busy creating their 3D sculptures, Kindergartners looked at the artwork of Alexander Calder, a mechanical engineer turned artist and known as the father of kinetic sculpture. Students also learned and reviewed the primary colors which predominate Calder's artwork (a great intro into our color unit) and we talked about the difference between 2D and 3D art. It was so fun watching and listening to them as they worked and we all wished their creations were big enough to walk through and play on. Hopefully these made it home without too much smushing!
