After looking at self-portraits by famous artists, first graders began working on their own - studying themselves in the mirror and discovering where their facial features are situated in relation to each other. The finishing touch was passing them around in a circle and writing adjectives about one another. It's so dear to read all of the kind things they have to say about their classmates. These are wonderful first grade...a great demonstration of artistry and friendship!!
